In memory of our late Club President Duncan Short, who passed away suddenly last year, his son Paul Short is running three half marathons between September 24 and October 2, joined on each of his runs by different people - including his brothers Alec and Rich and Wellington Cricket Club players such as current Chairman Mark Salter.
He is raising money so that the cricket club can have a permanent defibrillator situated in the club house and two portable ones to take to away matches, with all the remaining money going to the Cardiac Ward at Musgrove Hospital. You can find out more about the run, the reasons why and charities at the Just Giving site here .
The runs will be:
Friday, September 24 from 4pm - along the canal starting from Firepool Lock in Taunton
Tuesday, September 28 from 4pm - route TBC
Saturday, October 2nd from 2pm - between Wellington CC and the County Ground, ending at The Long Hop (Wellington CC)
If anyone would like to know more, volunteer to help with drink stops or would like to join in either some or all of the runs, please get in touch with Paul Short or a member of the club who will pass your details on.
