Wellington chose to bat first and the wicket proved trickier to score on than first thought as they got off to a conservative start. A 3rd wicket partnership of 77 between Alex Sparks (76) and Arron Campbell (35) got the innings going and would prove to be the game's most substantial. Once Campbell departed, Sparks went on but found partners harder to come by as they came and went before he was out for a capital 76. On his departure, Ryan Aingworth took over and some good hitting for 29 took the Wellington score to 208 all out.
An early run out from Toby Stirzaker was typical of a North Petherton innings that steadily lost wickets, with Will Derrick (3-17) and Aingworth (3-25) doing most of the damage. Luke Desave (1-14) was his usual miserly self and Tyler Fyfe (1-18) got his first WEPL wicket. Petherton had a brief rally for the last wicket but this was ended by Campbell (1-17) and ensured a sizable 91 run win.
A ninth win in the last 10 games ensures a mid-placed finished for Wellington after just 1 win from their first 7 games - a dramatic turnaround in form that they'll hope to build on next season.
